Day 01: Arrive Paro
As the plane approaches Bhutan don’t miss the majestic breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains visible in a clear sky and farm houses dot the hillsides.

As the aircraft enters Paro valley, you will witness Paro Dzong overlooking the Pa Chhu (Paro river) and Ta Dzong, formerly a watchtower and now the national museum.

A representative from KuenTshok Bhutan Tours and Travels, who will be at your service throughout your stay in Bhutan, will be waiting at the airport for you. On completion of airport formalities, you will drive through a beautiful Paro Valley to your hotel.

After lunch, drive to Drugyel Dzong, a ruin of a fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought off Tibetan invaders centuries ago. On the way, you can see sacred Jomolhari (mountain goddess) in its full grandeur and 7th century Kichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples in the himalayas built by the Tibetan King, Songtshen Gampo.

If time permits, in the evening stroll around Paro town, mix with the people and do shopping. Dinner and night halt at Paro.

Day 02: Paro – Thimphu

See Ta Dzong museum on the way to Thimphu, the capital city that is approximately 1-hour drive from Paro. The museum’s collection includes traditional thangka paintings, textiles, ancient weapons and armors, household items and other artifacts.

On arrival at Thimphu, check into the hotel. After lunch sightseeing includes the following visits:

• National library, which houses an extensive collection of Buddhist literature. Some of collections date back to several hundred years.
• Institute of Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School, where students undergo 6 years training course in 13 traditional arts and crafts in Bhutan.
• Visit to Tashichhodzong, the main secretariat building which houses the throne room of the His Majesty, the King. It is also the summer residence of the Jekhenpo (Chief Abbot) and the central monk body.
• Early evening drive to Sangaygang to get a bird’s view of Thimphu Valley. On the way back, visit Takin Reserve (national animal) and then free mingle with the people in Thimphu town.

 Day 03: Short hike to Tango Monastery and Thimphu City Tour

After breakfast, drive 30 minutes to the base of Tango monastery and then 45 hike to the monastery. The scenic views on the way and from the monastery are simply wondrous and breathtaking. Travel back to Thimphu. Then, in the town, visit the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local craft shops. There you can see and buy textiles, ceramics, thangka paintings, handicrafts, cravings and other locally made items. In the evening, travel to Paro for overnight stay in hotel in Paro.

Day 04: Depart Paro
After breakfast, drive to Paro airport for flight to onward destination.
